Are we more than our physical body?
This is the most important question you might ask yourself. Your answer influences every other believe you hold in all aspects of your life, not just in how you approach the concept of energy healing in general and Reconnective Healing in particular. If you believe we are merely bones and meat... well, there really is no point in reading further. If however, you believe we are more than our physical body, our conversation may follow many interesting paths...
- How diverse is our existence?
- Is our most fundamental form spiritual?
- Are we multi-dimensional beings?
- Might "spirit" and "energy" ultimately describe the same thing?
- What is the nature of a miracle?
We won't find absolute answers to any of the above questions — not in this lifetime, anyway. But opening your mind and heart to possibility allows the quantum nature of the universe to manifest in your world. This path leads us into worlds of wonder far beyond the limitations of Newtonian science. It leads us into the worlds of quantum entrainment and the holographic universe, where quantum theory meets revelation of mystics.
In seeking answers to these kinds of questions, there are several books which I find especially thought provoking. If you have read these and find they speak to you, we may well work well together. In any event, they are fascinating and I highly recommend them:

- "The Holographic Universe" by Michael Talbot
- "Quantum Healing: Exploring the Frontiers of Mind/Body Medicine" by Deepak Chopra, M.D.
Do you think this kind of talk is entirely unfounded, unresearched rubbish? At one time this subject was sorely lacking in controlled and well documented studies, but no longer! The following book offers over 500 pages of material:

I believe we are more than our physical body.
While we are more than our physical body, our capability to understand our own nature is severely limited, and by definition we are unable to comprehend God/ Creator/ Source. At best we develop useful metaphors in an attempt to understand fragments of the Incomprehensible. So we should not allow ourselves to fall into the trap of believing we may conclusively answer these cosmic questions.
What then should we do?
I am a pragmatist. There are no certain answers to life's most meaningful questions. But we derive value in how we choose to greet the Incomprehensible. Our perception of the world has a profound effect upon the quality of our life. So why not allow possibility to manifest in your life?
Reconnective Healing — What is it?
Reconnective Healing is clearly a form of relaxation as well as a stress reduction technique — this alone provides a real benefit. Typically this is all that one may legally claim with regard to any "energy healing" modality. The underlying theory of Reconnective Healing is that of a holistic approach to healing — meaning when the body, mind, and spirit are in harmonious balance, we are in an optimal state to promote a state of wellness.
Reconnective Healing is an energy healing modality. When a person experiences Reconnective Healing, their energy field is experiencing an interaction with another energy field. When resonance is obtained, an energetic entrainment takes place that first effects our energy body and then ripples throughout our subtle body and ultimately throughout our physical body.
In this sense it has more in common with the traditional Eastern approach to healing than the Western allopathic medicine. Many Eastern theories of healing describe energy meridians running throughout our bodies. When our energy is out of balance we open ourselves to a variety of negative influences upon our state of health and wellness. Much as a parasite or virus infests a weakened host. When we restore balance to our energy body we restore our natural ability to maintain a state of health and wellness.
I personally believe we are spiritual beings first and foremost. We only experience life as physical beings as a direct result of our true spiritual nature. It is somewhat as if our physical bodies were shadows or holographic representations of our true being. This is why I feel Reconnective Healing is a form of spiritual healing. Reconnective Healing offers us communion with the Universe/ Tao/ Divine Source/ Creator, and in this communion what we perceive as healing may take place.
No one really understands how or why. Why do miracles ever happen? How does a disease spontaneously heal? Why is the placebo effect even possible? No one is able to offer certain answers to any of these questions — yet they are as real as the energy emanating from your living cells which CAT scans read in hospitals every day.
Various forms of energy healing have been known for thousands of years. Among the best known of these ancient arts is acupuncture. A more recent method of energy healing is Reiki. And now, Reconnective Healing.... By whatever name you call it, whatever reason you ascribe to its efficacy, it has worked for many people, and it may work for you too. What do you have to lose by trying?
What is my role as a healer?
First of all, this is a misnomer — neither I nor any other "healer" is the one doing the healing. But saying "healer" is much faster than explaining the following paragraphs each time this subject arises, so it does offer some utility, at the cost of diminished specificity.
The Source of the healing, is in fact The Divine Source (in my opinion). However, the "healer" may act as a catalyst in this process. For whatever reason, there is often a real effect when "two or more gather" with a pure heart-based intention of performing spiritual work.
Do you remember the last time you played with a radio? Radio frequencies surround us all the time. Our physical ears cannot hear this. We only hear a radio station when using a radio — and more specifically, we only hear it when we tune to the proper frequency. And if our radio doesn't have an antenna, we aren't likely to hear much of anything....
My role is to be your antenna — an antenna specifically tuned to connect you with the healing frequencies of Reconnective Healing. My goal is to help you resonate in harmony with the healing energy of the Universe/Tao/Source/Creator.
Might Reconnective Healing be harmful?
No. This is no more harmful taking a nap. At worse, you will have an opportunity to relax for 30 minutes or so.
Where did Reconnective Healing begin?
This particular approach to healing was originally gifted to Dr. Eric Pearl. It has now become his mission to spread this healing throughout the world, teaching persons such as myself how to become a "lens" focusing this healing energy upon you. Dr. Pearl has trained in excess of 65,000 practitioners world wide (as of December 2009). You may find much more information about Dr. Pearl and his work at his web site. Under what auspices may I offer this healing to you?
I received my training directly from Dr. Pearl and his staff. Once they were satisfied I demonstrated an ability to help others through this healing technique, Dr. Pearl granted me permission to offer this healing approach under his registered trade mark names of Reconnective Healing® and The Reconnection®.
I wish to be very clear — I am not a medical doctor. I hold no medical nor nursing degrees. I am in fact profoundly unqualified to offer any medical advice. This is a spiritual calling for me. I have been ordained as an Interfaith Minister & Chaplain by the Esoteric Interfaith Church of Gainesville, Florida. While I personally identify most closely as an Esoteric Christian Gnostic, I believe there are many paths to God (Source/ Creator/ Great Spirit/ Godhead/ Universe/ Tao). I respect all peaceful, loving approaches of bringing oneself into closer communion with our Source. I believe it is by the grace of the Creator that you receive any healing, regardless of the "apparent" practitioner. It is as a spiritual ministry that I offer my services.
Is everyone healed?
I do believe everyone is healed... (wait for it!) ...however not always in the manner they expected!
Healing may take place on any level of our being, and we are both spiritual and physical beings. No one is able to predict or dictate the outcome of your healing sessions. Results are as varied as the individuals seeking healing. So keep an open mind, and be prepared to receive a healing you hadn't considered. Sometimes the Universe brings us even more than we would think of on our own.
I have observed some people become more attuned to, and receptive of, the Reconnective Healing frequencies after receiving their "Personal Reconnection" (this is "The Reconnection" — see below). This is logical because the primary purpose of The Reconnection is to realign and balance a person's personal energy meridians with those of the earth and universe. Many also find this to be a seminal spiritual experience.
What should you expect?
The Reconnective Healing session itself normally lasts 30-minutes, and start to finish, a typical session takes about an hour. This includes completing a small amount of paperwork before we begin the session, reviewing your situation, and then "debriefing" afterwards.
For the healing session itself you need only lay back and relax.
- If done face-to-face — I will slowly move around the massage table finding and stretching the energy I feel between us. As I work with our shared energy I will also seek a connection with the Source. This is a very organic, intuitive, heart-centered process — in a word spiritual.
- If done at-a-distance — I will still be finding and stretching the energy between us, however we will be physically separated by some number of miles. Fortunately, Reconnective Healing functions as a quantum effect, meaning physical distance is immaterial to the process. The connection we share is through our hearts, and takes place in the spiritual realm. I have worked with people while separated by half the United States in physical distance, yet there this is no different than when working face-to-face.
When your healing session is complete I will speak to you, and if you are unresponsive (napping!) I may lightly tap your shoulder. It sometimes takes a short time to come back into our awareness of our physical space, so sit still for a few minutes and don't attempt to stand up immediately. There is no rush. Take your time and re-center yourself.
As far as what you might experience during your healing session, everyone's reaction is different. Some feel nothing. Some may experience memories, thoughts, feelings, odors, or a wide variety of sensations. These may range from quite sublime to quite subtle to the strongly overt. It is important to note that your degree of reaction does not correlate to your healing. You will experience that which is right for you. No more and no less.
Your only "job" is to remain open and receptive.
What should you avoid?
During your Reconnective Healing session avoid reciting mantras and other meditation rituals, both those spoken out loud as well as those recited silently. If you have a cold, the flu, or for some other reason you are unable to quietly lay on down, reschedule your session. There is little opportunity to enjoy the experience if you must blow your nose every minute or two, or are unable to breathe easily while laying on your back.
If these are the issues from which you are seeking relief we will figure out an alternative approach.
Alternately, we can schedule a distance healing session. Due to what we have come to call the quantum nature of the Universe, distance is transparent to this healing. We need not be in the same room, or even on the same continent for that matter. Physical proximity is simply inconsequential.
What is the best way to prepare for a healing?
Remain open to what may or may not happen. Being certain this "must" work is nearly as great of a barrier as being "dead set" against this working. It is best that you are simply in a relaxed and open state, both physically and mentally. If you wish to pray, do so before we begin the session and know that God heard you the first time. Refrain from chanting mantras either out loud or silently.
This is the best way to prepare yourself to receive a healing.
Relax both your mind, and your body. Let something happen, or let nothing happen. Simply observe without becoming attached to the outcome — whatever that may be. Should a stray thought bring attention to itself (as it will!) just acknowledge it, and let it pass on. The "trick" to relaxing the mind is NOT to lack all conscious thought — for most of us that is impossible. The "trick" is to just let the thoughts pass as easily as they popped up in the first place. Relax... mind and body.
What Reconnective Healing services do I provide?
I provide both of the services offered under the auspices of Dr. Pearl:
- Reconnective Healing
- The Reconnection
Reconnective Healing may be done in person, or at a distance. This is for a specific healing, or as a means of relaxing at a very deep physical and spiritual level. I personally found I was more sensitive to the Reconnective Healing energy after experiencing "The Reconnection."
The Reconnection must be done in person, and need only be done once in a life time. (Although no harm is done by receiving it more than once.) The Reconnection is performed in two sessions, within a 72-hour period, ideally on consecutive days. Each session must be separated by at least one normal sleeping cycle. The purpose of The Reconnection is to re-align your energy meridians with those of the planet and Universe, and to facilitate your connection to your higher spiritual self.

It is generally advised to schedule three sessions. This does not obligate you to complete all three sessions. Feel to stop or continue as you deem best. Note that you do receive a discount when buying multiple sessions at the same time. However, should you later decide you do not wish to use all of the sessions for which you have pre-paid, those that have been used will be charged at the single-session rate, not as a pro-rated rate, nor at the discount rate.
